Running for Local Office
Three seats on the Village Board are up for election every spring. Terms are for two years. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, U.S. citizens, and residents of the Village of Rochester, with no felony convictions. Required papers include a campaign finance registration statement, declaration of candidacy, and nomination papers with 20-100 signatures of Village residents. The first day to circulate nomination papers is December 1st. For 2024, all papers must be filed with the Clerk’s Office by 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 2nd.
