NOTICE

To the electors and residents of the Village of Rochester,

Racine County, Wisconsin and to all parties in interest:

 

Please take notice that the Village Board of the Village of Rochester, Racine County, Wisconsin, did, pursuant to law, on the 11^th day of May, 2026, duly enact a certain ordinance to amend Chapters 8 and 9 of the Municipal Code to clarify gambling prohibitions under State law.

Please take further notice that said ordinance was passed by the unanimous vote of said Village Board.

Please take further notice that hereafter set forth is a summary of said Ordinance as enacted.  The full text is available in the Village Clerk’s office during regular office hours.

ORDINANCE NO. 2026-5
Amending Chapters 8 and 9 of the Municipal Code of the Village of Rochester to Clarify Gambling Prohibitions Under State Law

The Village Board of the Village of Rochester, Racine County, Wisconsin, do ordain as follows:

Section I. Amends Chapter 9, Section 9-3(C)(13), relating to intoxicating liquor and fermented malt beverage license restrictions, by repealing Paragraph 13.

Section II. Amends Chapter 8, Section 8-6(B), relating to public nuisances offending morals and decency, by repealing said subsection.

Section III. Provides that the provisions of this ordinance are severable and that invalidity of any portion shall not affect the remaining provisions. Conflicting ordinances are repealed only to the extent of such conflict.

Section IV. Indicates that the ordinance shall take effect after passage and posting as provided by law.

Adopted this 11 day of May, 2026.
