We would like to thank residents for their continued patience during the Oak Knoll Road reconstruction project. We understand the delays and ongoing construction have been frustrating, and we appreciate your understanding.

 

As construction has progressed, several unforeseen engineering issues required modifications to the original design to ensure the roadway is built to perform as intended. In addition, recent heavy rainfall caused washouts that required repairs and identified the need for additional fill material to improve slope stability and help prevent future erosion.

 

While these unexpected challenges have extended the project schedule, they are necessary to ensure the roadway is completed correctly and provides long-term durability.

 

Village staff, the project engineer, and the contractor continue to work together to keep the project moving forward. Crews will now focus on completing the remaining grading, paving, restoration, and final project items. Once finished, Oak Knoll Road will provide improved drainage, a safer driving surface, and a roadway built to serve residents for many years to come.
