The Village Board is considering expanding the Plan Commission by appointing two alternate members. That, paired with the resignation of one of our existing commissioners, means there are three seats the Village would like to fill.
Serving on the Plan Commission is a great opportunity to get involved in your community! The Plan Commission advises the Village Board on community planning and land use utilizing established policies, procedures, and ordinances. The commission is responsible for involving the public in planning and decision-making and must comply with applicable rules related to open meetings, ethical conduct, etc.
Beginning in October, the Plan Commission is planning to change its meeting date and time to the 4th Wednesday of every month beginning at 6:00 p.m. The commission meets for approximately two hours, depending upon the number and complexity of tasks on its agenda. Anticipate one hour of preparation time for each hour of meeting time. Plan commission terms last three years.
This is a voluntary position with a $37.00 stipend per meeting. Funding for authorized training is also available. If interested, please submit a completed “Application for Appointment” to the Village Clerk’s office. Submit it to the attention of Betty Novy, Village Clerk. The mailing address is Rochester Village Hall, P.O. Box 65, Rochester, WI 53167. You can also drop it off at Village Hall during regular office hours- OR scan and email your application to Betty at [email protected]
We hope you will consider serving your community in this way.
