As part of the Western Racine County Sewerage District’s Wastewater Facilities Project, a new sanitary sewer system will be constructed between East Main Street and the existing lift station just north of the canal on North Rochester Street. Construction will begin in late August. During this time, North Rochester Street will be closed at the lift station and traffic will not be able to continue through to East Main Street. Access to the residences along North Rochester Street and the side streets will be from the north at Beck Drive (Hwy 20). South Rochester Street will also be closed to through traffic.
The contractor hopes to have roads open again in a few weeks.
