Update 8/15:
Scott Construction will be chip sealing Wade St, Upland St, and Camelback Mtn Rd on Tuesday 8/20 and Wednesday 8/21. They will return for clean-up the following week.
All work shall be done between the hours of 7:00 am and 7:00 pm.
The chip sealing process includes spraying liquid asphalt on the street and covering it with a product called black granite chip. We do not close the street, but there may be minor delays during this process. Initially, excess granite material will stick to your tires and may track into your driveway and garage. It can easily be swept off and will not harm your driveway. The chip may also stick to your shoes. You will want take your shoes off before you go in the house, as the material may be abrasive to floors. Also, if you have pets, you will want to brush off their feet.
5 – 7 days after the chip seal is applied the loose black granite will be swept. Water is applied during the sweeping process, but it can still be dusty. Please keep the windows on your house closed during the sweeping process.
The chip seal process and sweeping are both weather permitting. Any rain will delay the process, possibly extending the window that the work will be completed.
